Aaron Rimbui

Aaron Rimbui (born Harun Kimathi Rimbui on October 15, 1979) is a Kenyan pianist, keyboardist, bandleader, and producer recognized for his work in the jazz genre and his fusion of traditional jazz with African rhythms. He began his musical training with drums before transitioning to piano at age 15. Rimbui served as the music director for the reality television competition *Tusker Project Fame*. He has released multiple solo albums, including *Keys of Life* (2005), *Alfajiri* (2009), and *Imani* (2024). He also released the *Mavuno Worship Project* album in 2007. In 2015, he collaborated with the group Sauti Sol on the song "Kuliko Jana." He later released an EP titled *Bald Men Love Better* with Bien-Aime Baraza in 2021. Rimbui relocated to New York City in 2017, where he has performed at venues such as Dizzy's Club at Jazz at Lincoln Center. He has collaborated with various artists, including Eric Wainaina and Kirk Whalum. In 2018, he won the Mzantsi Jazz Award for Best International Collaboration Album for *Kwetu*.
