About Amy Grant
Amy Lee Grant was born on November 25, 1960, in Augusta, Georgia, and began her music career in the late 1970s within the Contemporary Christian Music (CCM) genre. She is credited as the first Contemporary Christian artist to have a platinum record and the first to reach No. 1 on the pop charts. Her 1982 album, *Age to Age*, was the first Christian album by a solo artist to be certified gold and later platinum.
Grant has received multiple Grammy Awards and Gospel Music Association Dove Awards throughout her career. Her catalog includes well-known songs such as "El Shaddai," "Breath of Heaven (Mary's Song)," and "Baby Baby." Among her notable albums are *Age to Age*, *Heart in Motion*, *Rock of Ages...Hymns & Faith*, and *The Me That Remains*, which features the song "Trees We'll Never See."
In 2022, she became the first Christian musician to receive a Kennedy Center Honor. She is also a member of the Gospel Music Hall of Fame. Over the course of her career, she has sold over 30 million units worldwide.
