About Benachi
Benson Ongachi, known professionally as Benachi, is a Kenyan singer-songwriter recognized in the Kenyan gospel music scene. He later relocated to the United States.
Benachi gained prominence with the song "Mwanake," a collaboration with the late Kenyan gospel artist Kaberere, whom he has publicly acknowledged as a mentor. His catalog includes several collaborative gospel tracks, such as "Umenitosha" featuring Evelyn Wanjiru, "Sio Mwisho" featuring Kambua, "Ebenezer" featuring Moji Shortbabaa and Guardian Angel, "Tembea Nami" featuring Alice Kimanzi, and "Aje" featuring Moji Shortbabaa. He has also released solo songs like "Rehema" and "Dawa."
In 2020, Benachi received a nomination for Best Gospel Video of the Year at the Pulse Music Video Awards for "Sio Mwisho" (feat. Kambua). He has spoken publicly about his faith and the message of hope in his music.
