About Bethel Revival Choir
Bethel Revival Choir is a contemporary gospel choir based at the Global Evangelical Church (GEC), Trinity Parish, in Kotobabi, Accra, Ghana. The group is headed by Dr. George Hedidor, produced and directed by Henry Datsomor, and managed by David Boahini.
Active for over two decades, the choir originated from a small group of five members. They are known for modernizing traditional songs and performing Ewe-language medleys. The group has released three albums: *Halleluyah* (2007), *Akpe* (2018), and *Enyo* (2022). Their catalog includes songs such as "Agbadza Gospel Medley," "Mawu Gbagbe (Thank You)," "Yɛda w'ase (We Thank You)," "Avia Fia (Warrior King)," "Enyo," and "Yawo."
In 2019, Bethel Revival Choir became the first gospel group to win "Group of the Year" at the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMA). That same year, they also won Best Group of the Year, Gospel Act of the Year, and Gospel Song of the Year at the 3 Music Awards, as well as Group of the Year at the Contemporary Gospel Music Awards Ghana. In 2022, they received Traditional Gospel Song of the Year at the Ghana National Gospel Music Awards and Group of the Year at the Praise Achievement Awards. The group hosts an annual concert series titled "Akpe."
