Bird Youmans

Bird Youmans is a gospel music singer who performs traditional and contemporary gospel music and hymns. He was raised in South Georgia as the son of a Baptist minister. Youmans began his professional music career in the 1960s, performing rock and roll and blues. In 1974, he served as a bass player for Frank Zappa.

Youmans transitioned to a career in gospel music in 1997. He operates The Bird's Nest Recording Studio and Olive Branch Records in Conyers, Georgia. His recorded catalog includes traditional gospel hymns such as "Sweet By And By," "How Beautiful Heaven Must Be," "God on the Mountain," "On the Wings of a Dove," "Mansion Over the Hilltop," "What a Day That Will Be," "Praise God," and "Pass Me Not O Gentle Savior."

Youmans has also hosted a "Friday Night Sing Along" livestream program featuring gospel music.
