Blackwood Brothers

The Blackwood Brothers are an American Southern Gospel quartet formed in 1934 by brothers Roy, Doyle, and James Blackwood, along with Roy's son, R.W. Blackwood. The group relocated to Memphis, Tennessee, in 1950 and signed a major recording contract with RCA Victor the following year. They gained national prominence in 1954 after winning first prize on the television show *Arthur Godfrey's Talent Scouts*. The group’s catalog includes songs such as "More About Jesus," "The Man Upstairs," and "Have You Talked to The Man Upstairs?" The Blackwood Brothers are 8-time Grammy Award winners and 7-time Gospel Music Association Dove Award winners. They are inductees of the Gospel Music Hall of Fame, the Southern Gospel Museum and Hall of Fame, and are members of the Memphis Music Hall of Fame.
