BYU Vocal Point

BYU Vocal Point is a male a cappella group based at Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah. The ensemble was founded in 1991 by students Bob Ahlander and Dave Boyce, and it was adopted into the university's School of Music in 1994. The group consists of seven to nine members who are full-time students at the university. The group performs an eclectic repertoire that includes pop, rock, jazz, and hymns. They are known for producing numerous music videos and have been featured on platforms such as NBC's *The Sing-Off*. Their recorded catalog includes the albums *He Is Born* and *Spectrum*, the latter of which debuted at #1 on the Billboard Heatseekers-Mountain chart in 2014. BYU Vocal Point has earned several notable honors. The group won the 2006 International Championship of Collegiate A Cappella (ICCA). In 2017, they won an Emmy Award for the television special *Christmas Under the Stars*. That same year, they received Contemporary A Cappella Recording Awards (CARA) for their songs "Homeward Bound" and "Go the Distance." Their song collaborations include "When You Wish Upon a Star" with Anthem Lights, "What a Beautiful Name" with David Archuleta, as well as recordings of "How Great Thou Art" and "I’m Trying to be Like Jesus."
