Carrie Underwood

Carrie Underwood is an American singer and songwriter who rose to prominence after winning the fourth season of *American Idol* in 2005. Born on March 10, 1983, in Muskogee, Oklahoma, she grew up in the town of Checotah, where she sang at the First Free Will Baptist Church. She has been outspoken about her Christian faith throughout her career. Underwood’s debut single, "Inside Your Heaven," made her the first country artist to debut at number one on the Billboard Hot 100. Her 2005 single "Jesus, Take the Wheel" earned her the 2007 Grammy Award for Best Female Country Vocal Performance, and she also won the Grammy for Best New Artist that same year. She is the highest RIAA-certified female country artist of all time and holds the record for the most CMT Music Award wins. In 2021, Underwood released the gospel album *My Savior*, a collection of traditional hymns she grew up singing, including "Great Is Thy Faithfulness," "How Great Thou Art," "Blessed Assurance," "Victory in Jesus," and "Because He Lives." The album won the 2022 Grammy Award for Best Roots Gospel Album. She also released the Christmas album *My Gift* and launched a faith-based SiriusXM channel titled "SAVIOR SUNDAY DAILY by CARRIE'S COUNTRY."
