Cheryl Pepsii Riley

Cheryl Bridget "Pepsii" Riley is an American singer and actress born in Brooklyn, New York. She worked as a nurse for disabled children before beginning her professional singing career. She began her music career as the lead singer of the band Stargaze in 1982. Riley is best known for her 1988 R&B ballad "Thanks for My Child," which topped the US R&B charts. Her catalog also includes songs such as "Every Little Thing About You," "Father Can You Hear Me," and "In God's Hands." She has released albums including *Me, Myself and I*, *Chapters*, and *All That!*. In addition to her music career, Riley has appeared in several of Tyler Perry's stage productions, including *Madea's Class Reunion* and *Why Did I Get Married?*. She has described herself as being more spiritual than religious.
