Chris August

Chris August is an American singer-songwriter and producer known for his transparent songwriting in Contemporary Christian music. Born Christopher August Megert on March 20, 1982, in Dallas, Texas, he began his career as a secular musician before rededicating his life and music to God in January 2009. His debut Christian album, *No Far Away*, was released in 2010 through Fervent Records. The project was a critical success, earning him three awards at the 42nd Annual GMA Dove Awards: New Artist of the Year, Male Vocalist of the Year, and Pop/Contemporary Album of the Year. The album’s lead single, "Starry Night," reached No. 1 on the Billboard Christian Songs chart. August’s songwriting often explores themes of faith, hope, and love. His catalog includes songs such as "7x70," "The Maker," and "Center Of It," as well as the album *The Upside of Down*. In addition to his solo work, he is an active songwriter, producer, and mixer for other artists. He currently resides in Franklin, Tennessee.
