Chris Tomlin is a contemporary Christian music artist, songwriter, and worship leader. Born Christopher Dwayne Tomlin on May 4, 1972, in Grand Saline, Texas, he attended Texas A&M University, where he became involved as a worship leader for the campus group Breakaway. He is a founding member and participant in the Passion Conferences movement and has been signed to Capitol Christian Music Group.
Tomlin has sold over 12 million albums and accumulated over 8 billion global streams. He has been referred to by TIME magazine as the "most often sung artist in the world." His catalog includes widely known songs such as "How Great Is Our God," "Our God," "Whom Shall I Fear (God of Angel Armies)," "Holy Forever," "Amazing Grace (My Chains Are Gone)," and "Good Good Father." His albums include *Arriving* and *Burning Lights*.
His work has earned significant industry recognition, including a Grammy Award for Best Contemporary Christian Music Album for *And If Our God Is for Us...*, 28 GMA Dove Awards, and three Billboard Music Awards.
