About Cristy Lane
Cristy Lane, born Eleanor Johnston on January 8, 1940, in Peoria, Illinois, is an American singer who recorded both country and Christian/gospel music. She married Lee Stoller in 1959, who later became her full-time manager. In 1969, she performed over 100 shows for American soldiers in Vietnam. She moved to Nashville, Tennessee, in the early 1970s to pursue a country music career.
Her husband formed his own record label, LS Records, in the mid-1970s to promote her music. She is best remembered for her 1979 single "One Day at a Time," which became a major gospel hit. That same year, she was named Top New Female Vocalist of the Year by the Academy of Country Music.
Her catalog of gospel recordings includes songs such as "I See Jesus," "Whispering Hope," "In The Garden," and "Love Lifted Me." She also released the album *I Have a Dream* and recorded the country singles "Let Me Down Easy" and "I Just Can't Stay Married to You." She is noted for her contributions to the live-entertainment scene in Branson, Missouri.
