About Darey

Darey, born Oluwadamilare Babatunde Art Alade, is a Nigerian singer, songwriter, and record producer known for his work in Afro R&B, soul, and pop music. He is the son of the late Nigerian jazz musician and entertainer Art Alade. Darey first gained prominence as a runner-up in the 2004 season of the reality TV show *Project Fame*. His music catalog includes songs such as "Jah Guide Me," "Not The Girl," "Escalade," and "Carry Dey Go" featuring 2Baba. He also released the album *Naked* and the EP *Way Home*. One of his notable collaborations is "Pray For Me," a song featuring the Soweto Gospel Choir. Darey has also built a career as a creative entrepreneur, co-founding the creative solutions company Livespot360. Additionally, he has served as a coach or judge on television programs including *Project Fame West Africa*, *Nigerian Idol*, and *The Voice Nigeria*. For his work on "Pray For Me," he received the Best Male Artist (Inspirational) award at the 2015 All Africa Music Awards, and the song also won Best Recording of the Year and Best R&B Single at The Headies 2016.
