David Archuleta

David James Archuleta, born December 28, 1990, is an American singer and songwriter who first rose to prominence as the runner-up on the seventh season of American Idol in 2008. His self-titled debut album reached number two on the Billboard 200 chart, and his album Forevermore was certified gold in the Philippines.

Raised in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Archuleta has since publicly stepped away from the organization. His catalog includes songs with religious themes, such as "I Know He Lives" (2021), "My Little Prayer" (2016), and "I Will Go and Do" (2019). Later releases, including "Hell Together" (2024) and "Faith In Me" (2022), reflect a more personal songwriting approach.

In 2026, Archuleta released a memoir titled Devout: Losing My Faith to Find Myself, which details his journey regarding faith, identity, and coming out as queer.
