Denita Gibbs

Denita Gibbs is a contemporary gospel singer-songwriter and worship leader. Originally from Birmingham, Alabama, and now based in Nashville, Tennessee, she first gained national recognition as a finalist in the Vickie Winans Rising Star Talent Search. She has served as a Praise and Worship leader for several decades and operates under her own independent label, DMG Entertainment. Gibbs released her debut album, *Worthy*, in 2004. Her 2014 album *Without You* reached No. 14 on the Billboard Gospel Album chart. Her catalog also includes the singles "Nothing Better Than You" (2013), "Keep Holding On" (2018), "Better Believe It" (2020), and "Rest" (2024), as well as the holiday release "He Is Here." Her work has earned several honors. She was named the 2014 Alabama People's Choice Female Vocalist of the Year and also won the Alabama People's Choice Song of the Year that same year. She was a Top 3 Songwriter finalist at the 2018 Gospel Music Association (GMA) Immerse Conference, and her single "Keep Holding On" received Grammy consideration. In 2023, she was named Bama Female Gospel Artist of the Year at the 9th Annual Alabama Music Awards. In 2025, she received the BMI Christian Award for the song "New Name Written Down in Glory."
