Derek Johnson

Derek Johnson is a singer, songwriter, and worship pastor at Jesus Culture Sacramento, known for his contributions to contemporary Christian music. Born on March 5, 1987, in Roselawn, Indiana, he began his involvement with the worship team at Bethel Church in Redding, California, in 2007. He later joined the Jesus Culture team in 2009. Johnson is a multi-instrumentalist who transitioned from drums to guitar as his primary instrument at age 11. His musical style is described as faith-based pop rooted in alternative rock and Americana. He released his debut solo album, *Real Love*, in 2015. The album reached No. 17 on the Billboard Christian Albums chart and No. 9 on the Heatseekers Albums chart.
