About Elvis Presley
Elvis Aaron Presley (1935–1977), the American singer and actor known as the "King of Rock and Roll," was also a lifelong performer of gospel music. Raised in the Assembly of God Church in Tupelo, Mississippi, he was exposed to gospel music from an early age. This influence remained a consistent source of solace and musical inspiration throughout his career.
Presley frequently performed gospel songs during his live concerts and recording sessions. He released several dedicated gospel albums, including *His Hand In Mine*, *How Great Thou Art*, *You'll Never Walk Alone*, and *He Touched Me*. His gospel catalog also includes well-known recordings such as "Where No One Stands Alone," "(There'll Be) Peace In the Valley (For Me)," and "Crying in The Chapel."
His contributions to the genre were recognized when he was inducted into the Gospel Music Hall of Fame in 2001. He also won Grammy Awards for his gospel music recordings.
