About H-art
H_art the Band is a Kenyan musical group formed in late 2012. The group was founded by Mordecai Mwini, Kenneth Muya, and Wachira Gatama. The band's name is a play on "art from the heart," reflecting their fusion of music, spoken word poetry, and fashion.
The members met during auditions for a cancer awareness play at the Kenya National Theatre in Nairobi. The group later enrolled in and graduated from the Sauti Academy, a program under Penya Africa, in 2014.
The band has released multiple albums, including *Shoekran* (2016), *Made in the Streets* (2019), and *Simple Man* (2021). Their catalog includes songs such as "Uliza Kiatu," "Usiseme No," "Nikikutazama," "Bad Manners" featuring Victoria Kimani, "Issa Vibe" featuring Sauti Sol, "Number Wan" featuring Seyi Shay, and "Papaya Family." The group also recorded a track titled "El Shaddai" featuring Cedo, which incorporates religious motifs.
