Hawk Nelson

Hawk Nelson formed in Peterborough, Ontario, Canada, in 2000, emerging as a Christian rock band that blended pop-punk energy with faith-based lyrics. The group originally performed under names including SWISH and Reason Being before settling on Hawk Nelson. They signed to Tooth & Nail Records largely on the recommendation of Trevor McNevan of Thousand Foot Krutch. The band's musical style evolved from pop-punk to a more pop-rock sound over their career. Jason Dunn served as the original lead vocalist until his departure in 2012, after which Jonathan Steingard took over the role. Bassist Daniel Biro was the only founding member to remain with the band throughout its entire history. Hawk Nelson released several albums, including Letters to the President, Smile, It's the End of the World, Made, and Diamonds. Their catalog includes songs such as "Sold Out," "Words," "Live Like You're Loved," and "He Still Does (Miracles)." The band received nominations for a Grammy Award, multiple GMA Dove Awards, and a JUNO Award. They were also awarded two Canadian GMA awards.
