HLE

HLE, born Hlengiwe Ntombela on April 12, 1991, in Newcastle, KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa, is a gospel singer, songwriter, and worship leader. The daughter of a pastor, she grew up with a strong spiritual foundation in church music. Her professional music career began as a backing vocalist for gospel artist Ntokozo Mbambo, and she later gained prominence as a member of the gospel choir Joyous Celebration, which she joined in 2012. HLE launched her solo career with the 2020 live album *Your Kingdom on Earth*. The album peaked at number one on Apple Music's Gospel Albums chart in seven countries and won the award for Best Contemporary Faith Album at the South African Music Awards (SAMA). In 2022, she signed an exclusive recording agreement with Motown Gospel, becoming the label's first direct signing of a global artist. Her catalog also includes the EP *Take Heart*, the album *The Ground We're On*, and songs such as "Dwala," "You Are," "Umile," "Believe," and "Present Help." Beyond her music, HLE has hosted television programs including *Adlib* and *VIP Invite* on the South African channel One Gospel. She also founded "The HOW Project," an initiative focused on cultivating the heart of worship.
