Israel Mbonyi, born Israel Mbonyicyambu on May 20, 1992, is a Rwandan-Congolese gospel singer, songwriter, and performer. He is recognized as a prominent figure in the East African gospel music scene.
Raised in a church choir, his early passion for music was shaped by that environment. Alongside his musical pursuits, he holds a degree in Pharmacy and a Master’s degree in Public Health. His professional music career began in 2014 with the release of his inaugural single, "Number One."
Mbonyi is known for singing in multiple languages, including Kinyarwanda, Lingala, French, and Swahili. His catalog includes songs such as "You Won't Let Go," "Nina Siri," and "Baho (Live)." In 2020, he was nominated for an award at the African Entertainment Awards USA.
