About Katherine Jenkins
Katherine Jenkins is a Welsh mezzo-soprano singer recognized as one of the world's most successful classical-crossover artists and the UK's biggest-selling classical artist of the century. Born on June 29, 1980, in Neath, Wales, she studied at the Royal Academy of Music in London. She gained wide public recognition in 2003 after performing at Westminster Cathedral for Pope John Paul II's silver jubilee.
Her discography includes numerous chart-topping albums, such as *Premiere* (2004), *Second Nature* (2004), and *Living a Dream* (2005). She has performed for the British Royal Family, Presidents, and at various international sporting and charity events. Her catalog also includes hymns and sacred songs, such as *Abide With Me*, *All Things Bright And Beautiful*, and *Angels From The Realms of Glory*, as well as the single *Tears and Celebration*.
Jenkins has received multiple Classic Brit Awards for Album of the Year, in 2005 and 2006. In 2014, she was appointed an Officer of the Order of the British Empire (OBE) for her services to music and charity. She has also been a presenter for the long-running religious television program *Songs of Praise*.
