Kevin Downswell

Kevin Downswell is a Jamaican gospel recording artist and ordained evangelist. He studied biochemistry at the University of the West Indies before pursuing music ministry full-time. Downswell first gained recognition when he won the Jamaica Cultural Development Commission (JCDC) annual gospel song competition in 2003. He later earned a Doctorate of Sacred Music from the Door of Favor Theological Seminary in New York. His catalog includes songs such as "If It's Not You (Then Lord It's Nothing)," "Close To You," "Carry Me," "Not Afraid," "You Make Me Stronger," "Lights," and "God is Moving." In recognition of his contributions to music, ministry, and national development, the Government of Jamaica awarded him the Order of Distinction in the rank of Officer. Downswell also leads the Realignment Initiative, a mission focused on mentoring and restoring abused children.
