Lara George

Lara George is a Nigerian gospel singer, songwriter, and producer whose music is rooted in Christian faith and scripture. Born on June 23, 1978, in Lagos, Nigeria, she began her music career while studying architecture at the University of Lagos, where she joined the campus fellowship choir. She was a member of the disbanded musical group KUSH (Kinetically Ushering Salvation into Hearts and Homes). Her debut solo album, *Forever In My Heart*, was released in 2008 and featured the song "Ijoba Orun." Her musical style is often described as a fusion of contemporary gospel, soul, and African influences. She followed with the album *Higher* in 2012, which included the song "Dansaki (I'm Acknowledging You)." In 2016, she released the single "Total Surrender," and her album *A Slice of Heaven* arrived in 2017. George has received several honors for her work. She won "Voice of the Year" at the 2008 Nigeria Music Awards and "Best Gospel Act" at the 2008 Nigeria Entertainment Awards. She also won "Best Vocals Performance (Female)" at the 2010 Headies awards. A US-based artist residing in Alpharetta, Georgia, she also serves as the Vice President of SoForte Entertainment Distribution Ltd.
