Laurette Chala

Laurette Chala is a gospel music singer and songwriter whose work is rooted in the Christian faith. Originally from the Democratic Republic of the Congo, she attended primary school in Zimbabwe as a refugee before completing her studies in Australia, where she currently resides.

Her music ministry includes the release of the live album Hosanna in 2019. Chala has collaborated with other gospel artists, including Deborah Lukalu and Lord Lombo. Her catalog includes songs such as "Na Pesa Yo Nini," "Wastahili," "Hosanna," "Inuliwe," "Here I Am," "Desire," "Mitema," and "Mokonzi."

Her work has been recognized by the Africa Gospel Music & Media Awards (AGMMA). In 2019, she was nominated for a "Video of Excellence" award at the AGMMA for the song "Na Pesa Yo Nini," featuring Deborah Lukalu.
