About Mahalia Buchanan

Mahalia Buchanan is a South African gospel singer, songwriter, and worship leader. She was born in Johannesburg, South Africa, on April 30, 1991, and began singing in church at the age of six. She launched her professional music career at age 13. Buchanan is a former member of the internationally renowned South African gospel choir Joyous Celebration. She released her debut solo album, *Redeemed to Worship*, in 2015. The album earned her the "Best Newcomer" award at the SABC Crown Gospel Awards. Her catalog includes songs such as "You Fight for Me," "Heal Me Jesus," "Lift Up Your Eyes," "You Love Me," and "Ngiyabonga." She also featured with Benjamin Dube on the song "Sovereign God." In addition to her music, Buchanan has released an EP titled *The Ground We Stand On* and is known for her work as a television host and producer. She has performed internationally, including at events in Nigeria, Europe, and the USA.
