Maren Morris is an American singer, songwriter, and actress recognized as a country and country-pop artist. Born Maren Larae Morris on April 10, 1990, in Arlington, Texas, her music incorporates elements of R&B, rock, and hip-hop. She signed with Columbia Nashville and released her major-label debut album, *Hero*, in 2016. Her breakout single, "My Church," was released in 2016. The song uses religious imagery as a metaphor for the experience of listening to music. It earned Morris a Grammy Award for Best Country Solo Performance. Her catalog also includes the singles "80s Mercedes," "I Could Use a Love Song," and "Rich." She collaborated with Zedd and Grey on the song "The Middle." Morris released her second major-label studio album, *Girl*, in 2019. The album included the title track and the single "The Bones," which topped the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart for 19 consecutive weeks. She is also a member of the all-female country group The Highwomen. Her third studio album, *Humble Quest*, was released in 2022. Over her career, Morris has won a Grammy Award, five Country Music Association Awards, five Academy of Country Music Awards, and an American Music Award.
