Marizu

Marizu Ikechi Atuonwu, known professionally as Marizu, is a Nigerian-born, UK-based Afro-gospel singer and songwriter. Born in 1998 into a musical family, he is the son of gospel singer Bushi Ikechi. Marizu began performing at age 16 after joining his church choir, and he released his debut single, "Chosen," in 2018. He signed with the record label HFP Music in 2019. His musical style is described as a blend of Afro-gospel and soul, and his songs focus on themes of faith, grace, and the believer's identity in Christ. His catalog includes tracks such as "No Greater Love," "Dive," "Morning Sun," "I Know," "Run My Race," "Everything I Need," and "Believe." He has collaborated with various artists in the gospel music industry, including Limoblaze, CalledOut Music, and Buchi. Marizu has also received recognition for his work. He was the winner of the UKCC Top Indie/Folk/Acoustic song of the month for July 2021 for the track "Stay Here," and he also won the STEPFWD Best Indie/Folk/Acoustic song of the year for the same song.
