Maurette Brown Clark, an American gospel singer, songwriter, and producer, was born on May 5, 1966, on Long Island, New York. Often referred to as the "Princess of Praise & Worship," she began her musical journey performing with her family gospel group, the Brown Singers. She later earned a bachelor's degree in Business Administration from the University of Maryland.
Brown Clark gained significant industry attention as a featured vocalist on the Richard Smallwood & Vision song "Angels" in 1996. She is a member of the Richard Smallwood ensemble, Vision. She launched her solo career in 1998 with the album *How I Feel*. Her catalog includes songs such as "I Just Wanna Praise You," "It Ain't Over," "The One He Kept For Me," "I Want God," "God Is Good," "I Hear The Sound (Of Victory)," and "Awesome God."
In 2000, she won the Stellar Award for Best New Artist. Multiple albums, including *How I Feel* and *The Sound of Victory*, have charted on the Billboard Gospel Albums chart. She also received a Dove Award nomination for her participation on the 2008 remake of Donnie McClurkin’s "Stand." Beyond her music, Brown Clark founded a music management and booking firm called Nettie's Child.
