About Phil Wickham
Phil Wickham is a contemporary Christian singer-songwriter, musician, and worship leader. He was born Philip David Wickham on April 5, 1984, in San Diego, California, and was raised in a Christian home by parents who were members of the Jesus movement band Parable. He began leading worship for his youth group at the age of 13.
Wickham’s music is characterized by a blend of melodic, alt-rock-influenced sounds and worship-focused lyrics. He has released numerous studio albums throughout his career, including *Cannons*, *The Ascension*, *Children of God*, *Hymn of Heaven*, and *I Believe*. His catalog includes well-known songs such as “This Is Amazing Grace,” “Living Hope,” “House of the Lord,” “Battle Belongs,” and “This Is Our God.”
His album *Hymn of Heaven* debuted at No. 1 on Billboard’s Top Christian Albums chart and received the GMA Dove Award for Worship Album of the Year. The album’s title track was named Worship Recorded Song of the Year at the GMA Dove Awards. His subsequent album, *I Believe*, also reached No. 1 on the Billboard Top Christian Albums chart. Several of his singles have achieved Platinum certification, including “This Is Amazing Grace,” “House of the Lord,” and “Battle Belongs.” Wickham has also collaborated with other artists in the contemporary Christian music industry, including Brandon Lake. He is married to Mallory Wickham, and they have children.
