Redimi2

Redimi2 is the stage name of Dominican rapper and songwriter Willy González Cruz, a recognized pioneer of Christian rap in the Dominican Republic. He was born on June 3, 1979, in Santo Domingo. He began his music career in 1999 as a member of the group Redimi2 Squad alongside his brother JG. After other members left the group, he adopted the name Redimi2 as his solo identity. Redimi2 is recognized as the first artist to release a Christian rap album in the Dominican Republic. His early releases include *Combinación Mortal* (2000) and *Revolución* (2006). He has collaborated with numerous Christian artists, including Funky, Alex Zurdo, Annette Moreno, and Jesús Adrián Romero. His catalog also includes the albums *El Nombre de Jesús* (2014), *Trapstorno* (2018), *Quita y Pon* (2020), *UNO* (2022), and *Rompiendo* (2022). His collaborative work has earned recognition within the Latin Christian music industry. He won Best Urban Album at the Arpa Awards for the collaborative album *Más* (2013). His feature on the song "Be Alright" with Evan Craft and Danny Gokey peaked at number 2 on Billboard's Hot Christian Songs chart. He has been married to Daliza Contreras since 2005, and they have one daughter.
