Sam Smith

Samuel Frederick Smith, born 19 May 1992, is an English singer and songwriter known for their work in pop, soul, dance, and R&B. Raised in a rural village in Cambridgeshire, England, Smith rose to prominence in 2012 as a featured vocalist on Disclosure's single "Latch." Smith's debut studio album, *In the Lonely Hour*, was released in 2014. The album features songs including "Stay with Me," "Lay Me Down," "Money on My Mind," and "I'm Not the Only One." The project earned Smith four awards at the 57th Annual Grammy Awards, including Best New Artist and Best Pop Vocal Album. Smith also recorded "Writing's on the Wall," which served as the theme for the 2015 James Bond film *Spectre*. The song won both an Academy Award for Best Original Song and a Golden Globe Award. Later releases include the 2022 single "Love Me More," the song "Unholy," and the 2023 studio album *Gloria*.
