Steven Curtis Chapman

Steven Curtis Chapman was born on November 21, 1962, in Paducah, Kentucky. He is an American singer, songwriter, record producer, author, and social activist who rose to prominence in the late 1980s as a contemporary Christian music artist. He attended Georgetown College and Anderson College before moving to Nashville to pursue a music career. Chapman has released over 25 albums throughout his career. He is the most awarded artist in the history of the Gospel Music Association, having won 60 Dove Awards, and he has also received five Grammy Awards. His catalog includes 50 No. 1 singles and 10 RIAA-Certified Gold or Platinum albums. Among his well-known songs are "His Eyes," "The Great Adventure," "Dive," "For the Sake of the Call," "Cinderella," "Don't Lose Heart," "I Will Be Here," and "My Redeemer is Faithful and True." Along with his wife, Mary Beth Chapman, he founded the nonprofit organization Show Hope in 2003 to support adoption.
