Takie Ndou

Takie Ndou is a South African gospel singer, songwriter, music producer, and worship leader. Born Aubrey Takalani Ndou in the village of Hamutsha, Venda, Limpopo, he began his professional music career in 2004 after resigning from a career in information technology. He is also a member of the well-known South African gospel collective Spirit of Praise. His debut album, *Masimdumuse*, was released in 2004, marking the start of a recording career that includes albums such as *The Glory*, *Psalms of Hope*, and *Hope Arise*. Ndou has collaborated with a range of artists, including Bishop Benjamin Dube, Dr. Rebecca Malope, and VaShawn Mitchell. His catalog also includes songs like *Babe Ngisite / Ngiyabonga*, *Una Ndavha*, *Jesus Is Mine*, *Nne Ndi Shumela*, and *Riyavhalosha*. Ndou’s work has been recognized with multiple awards. He has won several SABC Crown Gospel Music Awards, including honors in 2021, 2023, and 2025. He is also a recipient of multiple Ingoma Awards, winning categories such as Album of the Year, Artist of the Year, and Song of the Year. In 2014, he won Best Urban Gospel Album at the Metro FM Music Awards, and he has also received a South African Music Award (SAMA) for Best Contemporary Gospel Album.
