The Compassion Youth Choir

The Compassion Youth Choir is a project organized by the Christian child development organization Compassion International in collaboration with gospel artist Kirk Franklin. The choir consists of over 120 youth, aged 11 to 19, from 25 countries where Compassion International operates. Compassion International is a Christian child development organization that works to release children from poverty in Jesus' name. The choir was formed through virtual auditions and rehearsals conducted in late 2020. The project was inspired by Kirk Franklin's 2020 trip to the Dominican Republic with Compassion International. Franklin provided vocal coaching and mentorship to the choir members during the project. The Compassion Youth Choir appears on the recording "Lean on Me (Worldwide Mix)," released in 2021. The song features the choir alongside Kirk Franklin.
