About The Psalm Project

The name The Psalm Project refers to two distinct Christian music entities, each dedicated to setting biblical Psalms to music for worship. One is a Dutch collective, and the other is an American band. The Psalm Project in the Netherlands is a group of musicians who arrange 16th-century Genevan Psalm tunes with contemporary instrumentation. The group was founded by pianist and composer Eelco Vos. The Psalms Project in the United States is a band led by singer, songwriter, and producer Shane Heilman. This project aims to set all 150 Psalms to music in their entirety. For his project's albums, Heilman has collaborated with various musicians, including Phil Keaggy, Jeff Deyo, and Jaye Thomas. Songs in the catalog of The Psalm Project include "My God, My God, Why (Psalm 22)," "Psalm 23 (Yahweh Is My Shepherd)," "Psalm 34 (Taste and See That He Is Good)," "Psalm 121 (He Watches Over You)," "Psalm 8 (In All the Earth)," "Psalm 4 (When I Call)," and "Praise the Lord (Psalm 150)."
