Trey McLaughlin

Trey McLaughlin is a gospel performer, composer, arranger, and arts educator based in Augusta, Georgia. He is the founder and director of the vocal ensemble The Sounds of Zamar (SOZ), a group known for its complex vocal arrangements that blend gospel, pop, R&B, and musical theater repertoire. McLaughlin holds a Bachelor of Science in Music Performance with an emphasis in Vocal Pedagogy from Columbus State University. He previously served as the director of G.E.N.E.S.I.S., the Columbus State University Gospel Choir, and is a member and past president of the professional music fraternity Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia. In 2018, he was recognized as the Artist of the Year by the Greater Augusta Arts Council. McLaughlin’s catalog includes original songs such as “Thy Will Be Done,” as well as arrangements of contemporary worship songs. His recorded arrangements include “Oh Come To The Altar,” “Let Praises Rise,” “The Blessing,” “Great Are You Lord,” “Psalms 23,” and “Just Want You.”
