Vince Gill

Vince Gill was born Vincent Grant Gill on April 12, 1957, in Norman, Oklahoma. He is a singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist known for his work in country and bluegrass music. He began his career in the 1970s playing in local bluegrass bands before joining the country-rock band Pure Prairie League in 1979. He launched his solo country music career in 1984. Throughout his career, Gill has recorded songs that have appeared on gospel and Christian-themed projects. His catalog includes the song "Go Rest High on That Mountain," as well as "When I Call Your Name" and "Forever Changed" from the album *Okie*. He has also contributed to Gaither Homecoming projects with the song "Tell Me One More Time About Jesus" and collaborated with Keith & Kristyn Getty on "Softly & Tenderly." He was a featured artist on the Ryan Stevenson track "When We Fall Apart." Gill has been a member of the Grand Ole Opry since 1991. He was inducted into the Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame in 2005 and the Country Music Hall of Fame in 2007. He has won multiple Grammy Awards and CMA Awards, and in 2025 he received the CMA Willie Nelson Lifetime Achievement Award. He joined the band Eagles in 2017.
