About William Murphy
William Murphy is a gospel recording artist, songwriter, and pastor who leads The dReam Center Church of Atlanta. Born William Henry Murphy III on August 2, 1973, in Detroit, Michigan, he is a third-generation pastor, following his grandfather, Dr. William H. Murphy, Sr., and his father, Bishop William H. Murphy, Jr. He recognized his calling to preach the Gospel of Jesus Christ while attending Ford High School in Detroit and was ordained as an Elder at age 23 under his father’s ministry.
In 2001, Murphy moved to Atlanta, Georgia, to serve as a worship minister at New Birth Missionary Baptist Church. He founded The dReam Center Church of Atlanta in 2006, where he serves as lead pastor. His music career as a solo recording artist began with the 2005 release of the album *All Day*. He is recognized for his work as a gospel singer, songwriter, and worship leader who fuses traditional gospel with contemporary influences.
Murphy’s catalog includes the albums *The Sound*, *God Chaser*, *Demonstrate*, and *Settle Here*. His signature songs include “Praise Is What I Do,” “It’s Working,” and “Everlasting God.” He is a Stellar Award winner and has been nominated for both a GRAMMY® Award and a Dove Award.
