Yanga Sobetwa

Yanga Sobetwa is a South African singer-songwriter recognized for her work in the gospel music genre. Born on 25 April 2001 into a Christian family, she rose to national prominence after winning the 14th season of *Idols South Africa* in 2018 at the age of 17. She has been open about her faith and her identity as a gospel artist. Her debut studio album, *Promised Land*, was released in 2019. The album peaked at number one on the iTunes charts in South Africa and earned a nomination for Best R&B/Soul Album at the South African Music Awards in 2020. Her catalog includes the single “Jeso O Ntekane,” and she has been featured on tracks such as “Ke Ka Thomo” and “Moya Oyingcwele (UKHONA).” Sobetwa has collaborated with the Soweto Gospel Choir and artist Amanda Black. Known for her vocal ability, she has performed gospel music in various church and worship settings. She married Ntsako Khoza in 2025.
