About Shawna Edwards

Shawna Edwards is a prominent musician, composer, and songwriter known for her contribution to the Latter-day Saint music industry hails from California, United States. Since childhood, she had a deep passion for music. Her parents recognized her potential and encouraged her to pursue it.
 
She completed her schooling from Alta Loma High School in Rancho Cucamonga and then enrolled at Brigham Young University (BYU) for higher education. There, she studied piano performance and pedagogy and graduated with a bachelor's degree in Music in 1995.
 
After completing studies, Shawna started working as an independent musician by composing songs and providing pianist services to various organizations. Over time, she gained recognition for her work within The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints community.
 
Shawna has composed over fifty hymns which are widely used during religious meetings throughout the world. Some of her most popular works include "Come Thou Fount," "I Love Thy Law," "Every Star is Different," "Incline Thine Ear," etc.
 
Apart from that, Shawna has also worked on several other music projects such as movies soundtracks, TV shows themesongs like ESPN College Gameday Montage(2001), documentaries scores including Meet the Mormons(2014) movie soundtrack where she was featured alongside David Archuleta; GENTRI: Finding Christmas (2016), Ephraim's Rescue among others.
 
Shawna is married to Dave Edwards who also serves as an executive producer at Powerwest Recording Studio which they co-own together. They have four children together named Nathanial Johnathan 'Nate,' Avalon Leighanne 'Ava,' Michaella Marie 'Mickie' & Ian Matthew Owen Edwards.
 
Throughout her career spanning more than two decades now since starting out as an independent musician after graduating from BYU till date; Shawna has made tremendous contributions to the Latter-day Saint music industry. Her work has been recognized, appreciated, and enjoyed by millions of people around the world.
