Pulpit CommentaryVerse 21. - There is no reason to doubt that Jaasiel is the son of the Abner who was Saul's own cousin (1 Chronicles 9:36; 1 Samuel 14:50).

Ellicott's Commentary for English Readers(21) Of the half tribe of Manasseh in Gilead.--Rather, towards Gilead, Gilead-ward: i.e., on the east of the Jordan, in Gilead and Bashan.Iddo the son of Zechariah.--The prophet Ze-chariah was a son of Berechiah, son of Iddo, and may have descended from this Iddo.Jaasiel the son of Abner, was, doubtless, a son of Saul's famous marshal.
