Pulpit Commentary
Pulpit CommentaryVerse 35. - Who are they among all the gods of the countries - i.e., the countries with which Assyria had been at war - that have delivered their country out of mine hand, that the Lord should deliver Jerusalem out of mine hand? Rabshakeh cannot conceive the idea that Jehovah is anything but a local god, on a par with all the other gods of the countries.
