Ellicott's Commentary for English Readers(30) And when he had thus spoken, the king rose up . . .--The act indicated, as far as it went, that the Apostle's words had made a favourable impression. This, they felt, was no common criminal, no fomenter of sedition. The question how he was to be dealt with was one that called for serious consideration; but the result showed that he was treated from this time forward with more respect and courtesy than before.
