Pulpit CommentaryVerse 22. - Upon the side of the tabernacle northward. Upon the right hand, as one faced the veil. No direction had been given upon this point, but Moses probably knew the right position from the pattern which he had seen upon the mount.

Ellicott's Commentary for English Readers(22) Put the table . . . upon the side of the tabernacle northward.--On the right hand to one facing towards the vail. Moses may have known the right position from the pattern which was shewed him in the mount (Exodus 25:40).
