Pulpit CommentaryVerse 54. - Even in that restoration, however, there should be a further clement of humiliation. Judah should be a comfort (see Ezekiel 14:22) to those who should see her placed lower than themselves, content, at last, to lake the lowest place, humbling herself that she might be (ver. 61) afterwards exalted.

Ellicott's Commentary for English Readers(54) Art a comfort unto them.--Compare what was said of justifying them in Ezekiel 16:51-52. The greater sin of Judah became a comfort by throwing their own evil into the shade.
