Ellicott's Commentary for English Readers(14) The Lord God of hosts.--The solemn name (Jehovah Elohim Zebaoth) used for the second time in Jeremiah's teaching (Jeremiah 2:19). The message is partly to the people--"Because ye speak this word," partly to the prophet who was sent to bear his witness against them--"I will make my words in thy mouth."
