Ellicott's Commentary

Ellicott's Commentary for English Readers(46) But some of them went their ways to the Pharisees--i.e., necessarily, some of those who had been with Mary, and had seen the things which Jesus did, and had believed. But why did they then go and tell the Pharisees? It is contrary to their position as believers to think that they did this as informers against Jesus. What they have seen has carried conviction to their own minds, and they report it to the Pharisees, either as a proof that He really was the Messiah, or in any case to demand from them a judgment on the facts which they report.Parallel Commentaries ...GreekButδὲ (de)ConjunctionStrong's 1161: A primary particle; but, and, etc.someτινὲς (tines)Interrogative / Indefinite Pronoun - Nominative Masculine PluralStrong's 5100: Any one, some one, a certain one or thing.
