Pulpit Commentary

Pulpit CommentaryVerse 22. - And the servant maid, Lord, it is done as thou hast commanded, and yet there is room. While these words are necessary to complete the picture, still in them we have a hint of the vast size of the kingdom of God. The realms of the blessed are practically boundless. Here, again, in the first instance, there was a Jewish instruction intended to correct the false current notion that that kingdom was narrow in extent, and intended to be confined to the chosen race of Israel. It is very different in the Lord's picture.

Ellicott's Commentary

Ellicott's Commentary for English Readers(22) It is done as thou hast commanded.--Literally, What thou didst command is come to pass.
