Ellicott's Commentary
Ellicott's Commentary for English Readers(15) I sent you to him.--The better MSS. give, "he sent him back to us."Nothing worthy of death is done unto him.--Better, is done by Him. The translators appear to have mistaken the construction, and to have taken the words as meaning "nothing worthy of death has been done to--i.e., against--Herod." The error is common to all the English versions.Parallel Commentaries ...GreekNeither [has]οὐδὲ (oude)AdverbStrong's 3761: Neither, nor, not even, and not.
